Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner

Dr. Greg Dykes is a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP). Chiropractic often discusses the importance of the nervous system and how the spine should always be in alignment to prevent any nerve interference that would affect the body’s overall function. CCEP is a type of certification that is strictly focused on the joints of the extremities.

The CCEP technique utilizes muscle tests to show chiropractors what areas of the extremities are in need of an adjustment. Once the chiropractor has adjusted the extremity, patients will immediately see results when their strength has returned.

Functional Movement Screen

Dr. Dykes in Tuscaloosa, Alabama is certified in Functional Movement Screen (FMS). The FMS is an efficient, effective and reliable way to see movement patterns during the performance of specific tasks.

When using this type of technique, Dr. Dykes will guide you through basic exercise and will score you based on your ability to perform the full range of motions properly and without experiencing pain. If your FMS score is low, then you have a greater chance of being injured and it is probably you already have an injury.

A chiropractor can help you recover from injury and use post-FMS assessments to help you discover ways to improve your strength and speed. It can also help you identify specific areas for improvement, which will allow you to make a big difference in your overall performance because you are strengthening your weaknesses.
